FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Medford, NY ? November 23, 2004 Michael Evans, a local kung fu instructor is making a space for himself in the competitive martial arts industry. On January 15, 2005 Michael is to be inducted into the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame for "Excellence in Teaching the Martial Arts."
Michael, a 4th degree Black Sash, has been a student and disciple of Sigung Moses Arocho since 1995, and has also studied several other arts. He also is a Graduate of the NY College of Health Professions in Syosset, NY, where he studied Massage Therapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine. "My goal has always been to re-introduce the tradition of the kwoon (martial arts school) as being a central part of the community. In the old days in China, a kwoon was a place for not only martial training, but an institute of scholarly pursuits, a place of help in time of need, and of healing in times of pain," says Michael.
Michael teaches traditional northern Lohan kung fu to children and adults at the Shaolin Kung Fu Studios in Medford, NY.
